How To’s

To set up Outlook 2007/2010/2013:

  1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles and click Add. You will see the New Profile window. Type a profile name and click OK.
  2. Type your name, primary email address, and your mailbox password twice, then click Next.
  3. When you get a security prompt, check the box Don’t ask me about this website again and then click Allow.
  4. You’ll then might be prompted for your user name and password. Enter your primary email address in the User name box and type your mailbox password.
  5. Outlook 2007/2010/2013 will now discover your email server settings and configure itself to connect to your mailbox. Once it’s completed, you can click Finish.Now you can open your new profile in Outlook 2007/2010/2013.

Note: If you are configuring Outlook using the Autodiscovery feature, checkbox On fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP might be NOT checked. It can slow down Outlook performance. To check the box, check Change account settings (above screenshot) > Next > More Settings > Connection > Exchange Proxy settings.

  1. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then tap Add Account.
  2. On the Add Account screen, tap Microsoft Exchange.
  3. Enter the account information, then tap Next.
    • Email: Enter the full email address.
    • Username Enter the full email address.
    • Password: The password for the Exchange account.
    • Description: A descriptive title that identifies this group of settings.

The device will try to configure the Exchange server address automatically. If the server address can’t be determined, you will be asked to enter it.

4. The device offers to immediately sync with the Exchange server. If you choose not to sync at this time, you can turn on calendar and contact syncing later in Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars.Note: Starting from iOS 7, it is possible to synchronize Notes.

  • By default, Exchange ActiveSync pushes new data to your device as it arrives on the server. If you prefer to fetch new data on a schedule or to only pull new data manually, go to Settings > Fetch New Data to change the settings.
  • To change how many day’s worth of data is synced to your device, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars. The  default setting is three days.

5. To complete the setup process, tap Save and wait for the iPhone to test your incoming and outgoing mail settings and connect to your mailbox.
